OK, you've all got blogs, so I'm creating one of my own, to sit, unvisited and unloved, like a forgotten grandparent, collecting dust in some home and, unnoticed... So now that I'm off on the right foot...

:: Night out at Dave's ::

Evening starts at Dave’s. Dinner was planned in between four of us; Johnson, Frankson, Jacq and myself.. all seated at ‘The Terrace’. A recent addition to this famous place.. with partial al-fresco-co-bar, makes everyone that comes here feels cozy, relaxed and comfortable so much so that I couldn't find a better name than 'The Terrace'..

A dinner gathering of us ravers (once).. to catch up and also to finally be able to make time to try Darren's posh restaurant [a truly diff spin comparing to his Dave's Delis]..

Couldn't remember the last time we've met up since we all started working our butt off.. Tonight will be a nite to remembered upon!

Darren, the head chef.. also my ex-school mate back in Samad days will be serving us both the hospitality and his culinary skills. Instead of ordering ourselves.. we made him recommend us his best-est dish.

Our first order was ‘water’ yea.. to sum it up, we’re here to really experience the food served in the much talked about restaurant “Dave’s”. Water; in effect will be our palate refresher.

Starter – Mushroom soup wit parsley.. + garlic bread. Aroma infused, very creamy and fresh mushroom taste. Additional button mushroom, thinly sliced makes you chew while "eating" the soup.. The garlic bread goes very well with the soup as well.. Just yummy! A+ for the first

Seconds – Bread Salad.. inculcating many types of fruits and crunchy bread.. supposedly a vegetarian dish.. Must Try!! Woohoo!!..

Mains – We were just thinking of eating one or maybe two of Darren’s best dishes but what came out from the kitchen was somewhat left our jaw dropped. I felt as if the whole ‘Terrace’ was looking at what was being brought out.. A large.. I meant gigantua golden-wood chopping board that measures at about 2 feet with various types of mouth-watering delights was placed onto our table. Eyes were gazing onto our table and I swear I heard murmurs around saying “wow! what’s that??, is that even in the menu?”

As disclosed by him, the dish is called “The Butcher Platter”.. all in all it includes
  • Pork Belly Shavings wit Scrambled Eggs
  • Assorted Gourmet Sausages & Assorted Veges
  • Baby Back Pork Ribs wit BBQ Hickory Sauce (Darren's signature dish)
  • Ham wit Mayonnaise Pizza
  • Stuffed Mushrooms
  • Bacon roll wit Asparagus/wit Enoki Mushrooms (my fav!)
Isn’t that just amazing?! And true enough this dish is NOT on the menu. It can be ordered only by special request.

A closer look at my favorite 'dish'.. Oh yeaaa..! heheh!

Both me and Johnson was so amaze we didn't let others touch the food till we snap enough picts of the platter.. and before we could even start the amazing dinner we're slapped with a big bowl of home-made mash potato.. the smelll!!.. oh my.. like tha saying goes "melts in your mouth.. "

In all that commotion, I'd managed to make a short trip to Darren's kitchen to snap some pict in their 'command center'.. It turn out that it's not as messy as I'd thought it'll be.. everyone is so composed doing their part..

The night went on real fast as we're all happy, well-fed wit great service & great food.. Good times fly by really quick.. Well, beer is the next thing on our mind.. then i noticed the workaholic Smileyface took out his trusty PowerBook and seems start bloggin bout this place..

Well Well Well.. I guess it's worth sharing this great place since we've all experienced it first hand. Tucked inside the old-wing (opposite Burger King) in 1Utama, I don't see why not share it with the world!..

Oh yah.., as we were leaving the place I noticed this 'chef's special' mirror.. Thinking aloud now.. On that night we had the Chef's Special's Special!.. The butcher platter.. well.. all-u-would-be-customers could proly try n request for it!.. ;) Cheers!
